November is Diabetes Awareness Month

November is Diabetes Awareness Month and the National Football league refuses to wear gray ribbons.  They go batty during October and wear pink ribbons, use pink towels and the players have pink shoes.  Yet breast cancer doesn't kill as many people as type 2 diabetes.  I don't understand why the NFL refuses to acknowledge diabetes awareness month.  What really ticks me off is they have a Juvenile onset diabetic playing!  Jay Cuttler, quarterback for the Chicago Bears has Juvenile Onset and he plays.  The NFL could and should have everyone wear gray ribbons to show support for diabetes cure like they do for breast cancer.

Next rant.  There are a bunch of morons out there who don't like the fact that most people say type 1 instead of saying juvenile onset.  So they want to rename type 1.  I have said numerous times to these morons that they can go back to calling it Juvenile Onset like it was called when I was diagnosed.  They basically ignore me.  Just because there are more type 2's out there, these morons (mainly mothers of children who are juvenile onset diabetics) don't like having to explain to people their children are diabetic and don't have to be fat.  That there are two types of diabetics.  Hell I've had problems with this most of my adult life.  For some stupid reason, people think of children can have juvenile onset.  That once we become a certain again our juvenile onset turns to type 2.  Try trying to tell idiots that once you're a juvenile onset, you're a juvenile onset.
