I wonder how many juvenile onset diabetics also have cancer. Strange thought isn't it. Not to have one disease but two of them. I'm lucky in that my cancer isn't a bad one. I have whats called pseudomyxoma peritonei. Here is another link for it Pseudomyxoma peritonei My doctor told me I had belly slime. I did not have any tumors or cysts. This type of cancer is a cancer of the appendix and it basically attacks the ovaries and it makes it looks like the ovaries have a tumor. My belly is full of this slime. My daughter says I have a snotty appendix.
So in my first surgery, in which I thought I'd have removed two cysts and a tumor plus my ovaries, tubes and uterus, all they did was remove my ovaries and tubes. I now have to see another doctor and then he will have to remove all the slime, the appendix, my uterus. If there's any damage to my colon, he may have to remove part of it, reattach it so no BAG thank goodness. Then if necessary do some sort of chemotherapy inside my body. I'm not really looking forward to another surgery. The doctor who did the first surgery said this one will be more intensive. I'm feeling pretty good all things considered. I also have switched from R and N insulins to Humalog and Lantus. I'm not a big fan of them, but the doctors at the funny farm (University of Michigan) weren't fans of R & N. So I switched.
So we'll see how things go. My daughter has been here to help and she's been a BIG HELP. She'll go back home for a few weeks, then come back for my second surgery. I have to see my primary care doctor so he can give the okay for me to have this next surgery. We have to have his fill out paper work so my daughter can come back to help me. Lovely paper work.

LynnEtte, I'm glad that Melissa can come back for the 2nd surgery. It is no fun recouperating and not being able to do the things you typically do. Get well.
